I'm not unemployed anymore - I actually have a very fabulous job as a preschool teacher with the University of Michigan child care centers. But I'm still posting, albeit a little more irregularly, and I don't want to ignore the personal progress I've made since starting this blog by renaming it.

Blog inspiration: I read 48 States in 48 Days by Paul Jury in the summer of 2011. It was fabulous...although he planned way less for his roadtrip than I would have. And at the same time, my lovely Anna was constantly reminding me that our lives were awesome, despite the fact that we didn't have job prospects, new cars, boyfriends/husbands, houses, etc., like so many people we knew. So, in an effort to appreciate my life and the crazy uncertainty that it is, I started writing this blog about the little adventures I have. (And by "writing a blog," I mean "making a list" because I make lists, not narratives.) Even if there isn't a BIG adventure that happens every day, I try to find at least one thing to list :)

I Went To Your Wedding (Dec 2)

  • Even though I still felt too exhausted to go to the service today, I headed up to church around lunch time to help with the Hanging of the Greens. Mandy gave me lots of great hugs, I got some free food and I helped decorate - it helped me feel better :) Plus, I was dubbed in charge of "fluffing" the artificial wreaths, because I was apparently awesome at it. The little old lady who is super OCD about decorating gave me that title! I was pretty excited :)
  • After this, I met Anna at Bed, Bath and Beyond and we shopped for a wedding gift for Leeann. Our procrastination was summed up when the cashier printing the registry for us faltered as he checked the date of the wedding. We finished his sentence of "And the wedding date is..." with "Today - yes, we know!" But we found some pretty great stuff. Mostly baking-themed, to relate back to the good old days of TBS bake sales :) And they gift-wrapped everything for us in a VERY pretty box/bow. It was fun!
  • We then went back to the apartment to get all prettied up. Anna helped me with a French twist for my hair and I wore a maxi-dress I've had for a couple years but have never worn. I didn't get a ton of compliments on it and I don't really like how it fits, so I'll probably be doing some re-making to it. We were ready with time to get gas and coffee AND we arrived early...WHAT? It was awesome :) The wedding itself was beautiful. The colors were light pink and gold and everything was so classy (well, except the bright blue PPT slide projected behind the alter, proclaiming that it was Leeann and Jaren's wedding day...). Plus, it was great to see and hang out with so many friends from EMU/band/TBS (especially Kathi, since she lives in faraway Florida now).

LOVED her dress :)

Best "Guest Book" idea ever!
